Colorado titleholder prepares for national pageant while expanding her work in fashion, entrepreneurship, education and community advocacy

Erika Rosemarie Cosentino, Mrs. Colorado US Nation 2026, has announced plans to expand her modeling, pageantry and community advocacy work as she prepares to represent Colorado at the Miss US Nation Pageant in October 2026.

Cosentino’s journey into pageantry began with an opportunity to step outside her comfort zone. After being noticed during the Miss West Coast US Nation Pageant in March 2026, she was offered the opportunity to represent Colorado at the Miss US Nation Pageant.

Since entering the industry, Cosentino has participated in fashion and pageant events in the United States and Canada. She has appeared on the runway at Super Chic Denver Fashion Week and made her international runway debut at Super Chic Toronto Fashion Week in April, where she was also published internationally. During her time in Canada, she assisted with the crowning segment at the Miss Canada Nation Universe Pageant.

“I believe modeling is about more than being pretty or wearing nice clothes,” said Cosentino. “It is about confidence, creativity, fashion, and being able to express yourself.”

Expanding Her Work Beyond Pageantry

Cosentino brings a diverse professional and personal background to her role as Mrs. Colorado US Nation 2026. She is a mother of two, a full-time college student and an entrepreneur, and previously worked as a certified nursing assistant for approximately 10 years.

She describes her professional experience as spanning healthcare, catering, delivery work, landscaping, automotive work, music, modeling and pageantry.

Cosentino said these experiences have shaped her perspective and reinforced her belief that individuals do not need to limit themselves to a single career or ambition.

“My life has not followed one straight path, but I think that is what makes my story mine,” she said.

Over the next five years, Cosentino plans to continue developing her modeling career while completing her education and pursuing interests in nursing, business and real estate. She also hopes to participate in runway opportunities across the United States, Canada, Italy and other international fashion markets.

Promoting Broader Representation in Fashion and Pageantry

As part of her growing public platform, Cosentino said she wants to challenge assumptions about who can participate in modeling and pageantry.

As a mother, student and woman with curves and a diverse background, she hopes her experience can encourage other women to pursue opportunities regardless of age, body type, family responsibilities or previous career path.

“I want to break the stereotype that you have to have a certain body type, age, background, or perfect life to be a model or pageant queen,” Cosentino said. “Women should not feel like they have to fit into one specific box to be considered beautiful or successful.”

She also hopes her continued participation in fashion and pageantry will demonstrate to her children that pursuing a new goal does not require waiting for a perfect moment.

Advocacy for Domestic Violence and Homelessness Awareness

Beyond modeling and pageantry, Cosentino plans to use her Mrs. Colorado US Nation 2026 platform to raise awareness of domestic violence and homelessness.

She said both issues have personal significance and are part of a longer-term vision focused on connecting people and families with resources and opportunities to rebuild their lives.

“I want to use my title to bring awareness, help connect people with resources, and eventually help create a community center where people experiencing homelessness can receive support and have opportunities to rebuild their lives,” she said.

For Cosentino, the title represents an opportunity to combine public visibility with causes she considers meaningful.

Preparing for the National Stage

Cosentino is preparing to represent Colorado at the Miss US Nation Pageant in October 2026. In addition to the national competition, she expects to continue participating in modeling, fashion, media and community activities during her reign.

Her work reflects an approach to pageantry that extends beyond competition and focuses on personal development, representation and community involvement.

“I have a lot of dreams, and I don’t believe I have to choose only one,” Cosentino said.

As she moves toward the national stage, Cosentino plans to continue developing her education, business interests, modeling career and advocacy work while using her platform to encourage other women to pursue new opportunities.
