What began as a personal celebration has evolved into an international journey through pageantry, fashion, wellness advocacy, and public speaking for Jazlynn Thomas.

Thomas first entered the Miss US Nation Pageant system as Miss Aurora US Nation 2026, stepping into modeling only weeks before receiving her inaugural title. Her introduction to the industry followed a milestone photoshoot she arranged for her 25th birthday—an experience that revealed an unexpected sense of confidence and belonging in front of the camera. Since then, her progression has been swift.

from aurora to miss colorado us nation jazlynn thomas expands her purpose beyond the crown From Aurora to Miss Colorado US Nation: Jazlynn Thomas Expands Her Purpose Beyond the Crown

In March 2026, Thomas was crowned Miss Colorado US Nation during the Miss West Coast US Nation Pageant, where delegates representing several western states came together to compete. The achievement marked her transition from a local titleholder to a statewide representative and opened a new chapter in her growing career.

Her runway experience has expanded alongside her pageant journey. In February, Thomas made her mark at New York Fashion Week debut during the Super Chic New York Fashion Week showcase. Two months later, she traveled internationally to walk in Super Chic Toronto Fashion Week—her first international Fashion Week appearance, which resulted in her becoming an internationally published model, extending her visibility beyond the runway and introducing her to a broader fashion audience.

For Thomas, however, modeling represents more than presentation. She views it as a form of storytelling—one shaped through collaboration among models, designers, photographers, and other creative professionals. Her growing body of work reflects an interest in commercial, e-commerce, fitness, and active-lifestyle modeling, as well as a desire to continue pursuing opportunities throughout the United States and internationally.

Her development as a titleholder has also taken place beyond the competition stage. During the Miss Canada Nation Universe Pageant, Thomas was given the opportunity to serve as a host, allowing her to strengthen her skills in live presentation, audience engagement, and event leadership.

Each experience has helped reshape her understanding of what it means to wear a crown. Rather than viewing a title as a ceremonial distinction, Thomas approaches it as a working role—one that requires preparation, professionalism, visibility, and service.

That commitment is most evident through her platform, Accessible Wellness for Every Body and Mind.

As a yoga instructor who has worked with seniors and individuals with limited mobility, Thomas advocates for wellness programs that recognize different ages, abilities, backgrounds, and physical needs. Her experience teaching chair yoga has shown her how movement can help individuals rebuild confidence, reconnect with their bodies, and improve their overall well-being.

Her advocacy also challenges the exclusivity that can exist within traditional fitness and wellness spaces. Thomas believes meaningful wellness should not be reserved for those who already fit a particular image of health or physical ability. Instead, she promotes an approach grounded in accessibility, patience, emotional health, and individual progress.

That same philosophy influences how she views fashion and pageantry. Once hesitant to pursue modeling because she feared she did not fit the industry’s conventional mold, Thomas now considers authenticity one of her greatest strengths. She hopes her presence encourages other women to recognize that success does not require erasing the qualities that make them distinct.

She also rejects the misconception that women in pageantry must compete against one another beyond the stage. Her belief that one woman’s success can create space for others reflects the collaborative spirit she hopes to carry throughout her reign.

As Miss Colorado US Nation 2026, Thomas is continuing to balance her responsibilities as a titleholder, model, instructor, and advocate. Her path—from New York and Toronto Fashion Week, a statewide crown, and hosting on the national pageant stage—demonstrates how quickly a new direction can emerge when preparation meets opportunity.

Still early in her career, Thomas is building something larger than a collection of titles or runway appearances. Her journey is becoming a reflection of the values she represents: accessible wellness, authentic confidence, creative expression, and service to others.

For Jazlynn, the crown may be a visible symbol of achievement—but the purpose behind it remains the most important part of her story. The photo used in this article was taken by Models in Motion by JT.

Author Amanda R. Potts is preparing to introduce young readers and families to Ray’s Summer at SandPlant, a joyful children’s book inspired by treasured summers spent camping, swimming, exploring, and making memories with loved ones.

The story follows Ray, a cheerful young girl who travels with her parents, her older sisters Dawn and Rose, and their loyal dog, Toto, to SandPlant, a place the family visits every summer. From the moment they arrive, Ray eagerly looks forward to swimming, sliding down the waterfalls, playing Marco Polo with her cousins, building sandcastles, enjoying ice cream, roasting marshmallows, and falling asleep beneath the stars.

Although the adventure is filled with fun, Ray also learns to be careful and responsible. She listens to warnings about slippery rocks, remains in shallow water when she feels unsure, watches for snakes near the swimming areas, washes her hands before meals, and follows her parents’ guidance throughout the day. These gentle lessons are woven naturally into a story centered on family connection, outdoor play, safety, and childhood confidence.

For Amanda, the book carries deeply personal meaning. SandPlant was an important summer destination for her and her sisters, and the memories they created there remained with her long after the location closed to the public. By transforming those experiences into a children’s story, Amanda hopes to preserve the happiness of those summers while encouraging other families to appreciate the simple moments they share together.

Ray’s Summer at SandPlant is intended for parents with young children and early readers who enjoy stories about family, camping, pets, nature, and summertime adventures. Its warm and relatable scenes invite children to think about their own favorite traditions and the people who make those memories special.

The forthcoming book will be released in e-book and paperback formats through Lumera Publishing. Additional publication and purchasing information will be announced closer to its official launch.

TriClip provides a minimally invasive treatment option for eligible patients with symptomatic tricuspid regurgitation who face increased surgical risk

Abbott (NYSE: ABT) today announced the initiation of the TREAT TR study, a prospective post-market study evaluating the safety, performance and clinical outcomes of the company’s TriClip™ transcatheter edge-to-edge repair system in real-world clinical practice.

TriClip is specifically designed to treat tricuspid regurgitation, or TR, a condition commonly known as a leaky tricuspid heart valve. The TREAT TR study will expand the body of clinical evidence supporting the system and assess its performance across a diverse population of patients, healthcare centers and geographic regions.

The first patient in the study was enrolled at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona in Spain by Xavier Freixa, M.D., and his cardiac team.

Study to Enroll Approximately 1,000 Patients

The prospective, observational, single-arm, multicenter study is expected to enroll approximately 1,000 patients at as many as 100 clinical sites in the United States, Canada and Europe.

Participants will be evaluated at hospital discharge, 30 days, six months and one year following treatment. Annual follow-up assessments will then continue for an additional four years, providing five years of clinical information for each participating patient.

A selected group of patients will also participate in a sub-study examining whether treatment with TriClip may reverse cardiac remodeling—the structural changes that can occur when the heart is injured or subjected to prolonged pressure or volume overload.

“Prior to TriClip’s availability, many patients with tricuspid regurgitation had few treatment options because medical therapy didn’t relieve their symptoms or they were at an increased risk for conventional open-heart surgery,” said Anita Asgar, M.D., section head of interventional cardiology and medical director for the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute Structural Heart Program at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago and co-principal investigator of the TREAT TR study.

“Through multiple clinical studies and in working directly with patients, we’ve seen that TriClip can have a profound impact on the lives of people with TR, and we’re excited to see additional evidence to support this minimally invasive device.”

Addressing Tricuspid Regurgitation

The tricuspid valve controls blood flow from the heart’s right atrium to its right ventricle. Tricuspid regurgitation occurs when the valve does not close properly, allowing blood to flow backward through the valve.

The condition can force the heart to work harder and may cause symptoms including fatigue, swelling and shortness of breath. When left untreated, severe TR may contribute to complications such as atrial fibrillation and heart failure.

TriClip is intended to provide an additional treatment option for eligible patients who remain symptomatic despite medical therapy and are considered to be at elevated risk for conventional open-heart surgery.

The system’s transcatheter edge-to-edge repair technology is delivered through a vein in the leg. It works by clipping together portions of the tricuspid valve leaflets, helping the valve close more effectively and reducing backward blood flow without requiring open-heart surgery.

Patients treated with TriClip spend an average of approximately one day in the hospital following the procedure before returning home.

Clinical Evidence Supports TriClip Treatment

TriClip has been evaluated through several clinical studies, including the TRILUMINATE Pivotal trial. Results from the trial demonstrated that the system reduced the severity of tricuspid regurgitation, improved patients’ quality of life and supported reductions in heart-failure-related hospitalizations.

Findings from the TRILUMINATE Pivotal trial supported approval of the TriClip system by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Additional real-world evidence was presented in June 2026 at the New York Valves conference. The analysis included 3,035 patients recorded in the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and American College of Cardiology Transcatheter Valve Therapy Registry across 278 clinical sites in the United States.

The registry findings showed outcomes consistent with those observed in the TRILUMINATE Pivotal trial, including meaningful reductions in TR severity and improvements in patients’ quality of life.

“Clinical studies have continued to reinforce the benefits of repairing the tricuspid valve with TriClip and the significant improvements that it brings to people’s daily lives, including reducing the rate of hospitalizations due to heart failure,” said Lars Sondergaard, M.D., chief medical officer of Abbott’s structural heart business.

“We believe the TREAT TR study will further confirm TriClip’s safety profile and effectiveness in reducing tricuspid regurgitation across a diverse range of patients and locations.”

About the TREAT TR Study

TREAT TR is a prospective, observational, single-arm, multicenter post-market study designed to evaluate the safety and real-world performance of the TriClip system.

The study will build upon existing clinical evidence and assess patient outcomes across a broader range of clinical environments, populations and geographic locations.

About TriClip™

TriClip is a minimally invasive treatment option designed to repair the tricuspid valve through transcatheter edge-to-edge repair.

The system has been approved for use in more than 50 countries, including the United States, Canada and countries across Europe, since receiving its initial CE Mark approval in 2020. TriClip has been used to treat more than 15,000 people with tricuspid regurgitation.
