Gold, Silver and Bronze honors recognize Helpany and United Zion across Fall Prevention, Creative Use of AI and Quality—following a 70% reduction in falls and culminating in zero falls.

Senior care has long been built around responding to incidents after they happen. Helpany is working to change that equation by giving care teams earlier insight into changes in resident well-being, mobility and fall risk, all without cameras or microphones. At the center of all three recognitions is one achievement: United Zion achieved zero falls. That work has earned Helpany and United Zion three honors at the 16th annual McKnight’s Excellence in Technology Awards.

Helpany’s AI- and radar-powered care platform, and its work with United Zion Retirement Community received Gold in Fall Prevention, Silver in Creative Use of AI, and Bronze in Quality. The McKnight’s Excellence in Technology Awards recognize innovations across senior living, skilled nursing and home care that improve safety, operations and quality of life. Gold, Silver and Bronze winners across 14 categories were selected by an independent panel of 24 long-term care stakeholders.

“We are incredibly proud to partner with forward-thinking communities like United Zion that are willing to challenge what is possible in senior care,” said Sandro Cilurzo, CEO and Co-Founder of Helpany. “By embracing a proactive approach to care, United Zion is setting a new benchmark for the industry and demonstrating what care can look like. Their achievement shows what is possible when strong care teams are empowered by AI and share a common ambition to improve resident outcomes.”

Falls remain the leading cause of injury among adults 65 and older, with more than 14 million older adults—or approximately one in four—reporting a fall each year, according to the CDC.

Helpany addresses this challenge with Paul, its AI- and radar-powered device designed to help care teams recognize risk earlier. Installed on the ceiling of a resident’s apartment, Paul continuously analyzes individual movement patterns without cameras or microphones, including changes in gait and mobility, sleep, bathroom frequency and sedentary behavior. Helpany’s AI identifies meaningful changes and conditions that may indicate a resident is at increased risk and flags them for the care team. This gives caregivers actionable insights to investigate potential concerns and intervene earlier—while preserving residents’ privacy, dignity and independence.

The results at United Zion Retirement Community, the first senior living community in Pennsylvania to implement Helpany, demonstrate the potential of that approach. The results showed a clear month-over-month progression. Falls declined meaningfully in January, improved further in February, and by March, United Zion had reduced falls by more than 80% compared with the 2025 baseline. Then, in April, the community reached a milestone that once seemed almost impossible: zero falls. Across the four-month period, United Zion achieved an overall 70% reduction in falls—demonstrating the impact of moving from reacting to incidents to proactively identifying and addressing risk.

Helpany’s AI-powered service plan assessment also found that 1 in 3 care plans required realignment, meaning documented care levels no longer fully reflected residents’ evolving needs and risks. With greater insights into residents’ day-to-day patterns, care teams can adjust support earlier and help ensure each resident receives the appropriate level of care at the appropriate time.

For United Zion, the technology has become part of a broader effort to use objective resident insights to strengthen care decisions while preserving residents’ privacy, dignity, and independence.

Meaningful results across Helpany communities include:

  • United Zion Retirement Community: Achieved zero falls in April 2026, following a month-over-month improvement that included a more than 80% reduction in March compared with the 2025 baseline. Across the four-month period, falls were reduced by approximately 70%, while insights from Helpany contributed to the realignment of one in three care plans.

  • Fellowship Square Mesa: Increased resident presence in memory care from 92.9% to 97.0%, representing approximately 270 additional resident days per year and an estimated $78,000+ in annual ALTCS/Medicaid savings by helping residents spend fewer days in hospitals and skilled nursing facilities.

  • Glencroft Center for Modern Aging – Sarah’s Place: Recorded zero nighttime falls for three consecutive months across its 24-unit memory care neighborhood, alongside more than 250 proactive interventions.

  • Arroyo Gardens: Achieved a 64% reduction in total falls, zero fall-related 911 calls, and a 57% reduction in general injuries after implementing Helpany across its senior living community.

  • Across Helpany communities: Proactive care has contributed to up to 80% fewer 911 calls and up to 22% more caregiver time available, helping care teams focus their time where residents need it most.

The recent recognition comes as Helpany continues to grow nationally, supporting senior living providers across Arizona, Pennsylvania, Texas and Georgia. The company also recently expanded its leadership team.

“Technology should strengthen human care, not complicate it,” Cilurzo said. “Our goal is to give caregivers more time, more clarity and more confidence to do what they do best: care for people. These awards reinforce that proactive, privacy-first AI can help shape a safer and more dignified future for senior living.”

Monica Triyadi Identifies Three Critical Handoff Gaps in Cross-Border Investment Research Through “The Handoff Room”

A live investment operations demonstration using a fictional case illustrates how research time can be lost when information sources, responsibilities and access permissions remain unclear

A research document has been sent. A meeting has ended. A set of materials is ready.

On the surface, the work appears to be moving forward. In cross-border investment research, however, progress can stall not because a task has been left entirely undone, but because it is only partly complete—and no one can say with certainty who is responsible for what happens next.

66f34695 9399 4271 87b4 b31cad0bd1fc Monica Triyadi Identifies Three Critical Handoff Gaps in Cross-Border Investment Research Through “The Handoff Room”

At “The Handoff Room,” a live investment operations demonstration in Singapore, Monica Triyadi used an entirely fictional ASEAN company-research case, designed without confidential information, to show how research materials move through scheduling, source verification, specialist review, meeting preparation and follow-up.

The demonstration involved no real securities and did not ask participants to make investment decisions. Instead, it examined a more fundamental, often underestimated question: when information passes from one person to another, do its source, responsibility and permissions travel with it?

Drawing on the demonstration’s process records, Triyadi identified three handoff gaps requiring particular attention: information had been passed on without a clearly identified person responsible for confirming its source; a meeting had ended without a single owner for follow-up; and documents were ready without clear instructions on who could use them or for how long.

Each gap may seem minor. In practice, any one of them can bring an otherwise workable research task to a halt.

“Time lost in cross-border research is not always the result of one major mistake,” Triyadi said. “It can disappear in a question nobody follows up on—who confirmed this, who handles the next step, or whether this document can still be used.”

The first gap appears after the information arrives

The first disruption in the demonstration was not a missing document. It was the uncertainty that emerged after a document reached the next stage.

Information may carry the sender’s name without identifying who verified its contents. An attachment may show an updated date without explaining why the previous version was replaced. A key figure may be passed between several people until its eventual user no longer knows whom to approach with further questions.

The information has not disappeared. It remains in an email, a folder or a meeting pack. What it has lost is the context needed to keep the work moving.

For research support professionals, the pressure comes not simply from being unable to find a file, but from having to retrace its origins when a deadline is already approaching.

Triyadi’s approach is that an effective handoff should establish more than whether something has been sent. It should preserve three things: the information’s source, its current status and the person who can confirm it.

Without those details, the recipient may have received a document, but not information that is ready to use.

The second gap opens when the meeting ends

The second issue illustrated by “The Handoff Room” emerged at a moment when attention can easily begin to drift: the end of a meeting.

Participants may have identified additional data to obtain, wording to verify or material that cannot yet be used. Everyone may have heard those requirements. But unless a single responsible person, a deadline and a completion check are agreed before people leave, the work remains in an uncertain state.

Everyone knows something is outstanding. No one is entirely sure whether it belongs to them.

What makes this situation so draining is that it rarely looks like an obvious failure at first. The task may not resurface for hours or days. By then, the team has to reconstruct the discussion, review messages and establish who was supposed to act.

“Everyone hearing a request does not mean someone has taken ownership of it,” Triyadi said. “If a meeting records what was discussed but not who must come back with an answer, all it leaves behind is a conversation.”

The end of a meeting should therefore not be treated as the end of the process. A meaningful handoff needs to establish who is responsible, when the work is due and how completion will be confirmed.

The less clearly responsibility is assigned, the more follow-up depends on individual memory. Across teams and time zones, memory alone is an unreliable foundation for coordinated work.

The third gap appears when the documents look complete

The third issue is harder to spot because, by this stage, the documents often look finished.

Titles, attachments and version numbers may all be in order. Yet a recipient may not know whether the material can be forwarded or when access expires. Some documents may be suitable for internal discussion but not external communication. Others may be available only during a particular stage of work, with access expected to end when the task is complete.

A document being ready does not mean its delivery is complete.

For Triyadi, a complete handoff also needs to establish the intended recipients, permitted uses, approved channels and duration of access. Without those conditions, a cautious recipient may stop using the material because the rules are unclear. A less cautious recipient may continue sharing it beyond its intended scope.

The first outcome creates delay. The second creates information governance risk.

That is why confidentiality cannot rest solely on a disclaimer at the end of a file. It becomes part of the operating process only when permissions travel with the information and are clearly withdrawn when no longer needed.

Research time can disappear into work that is “almost finished”

“The Handoff Room” did not seek to reduce investment operations to a universal checklist or attribute every delay to individual carelessness.

Instead, the demonstration made a less visible problem easier to recognise: research tasks can stall not during specialist analysis, but in the space between professional functions where ownership has not been clearly established.

Information has been sent, but source confirmation has not travelled with it. A meeting has ended, but responsibility has not been assigned. A document is ready, but its permissions remain unclear. Each task looks close to completion, which makes the remaining gap easier to overlook.

Triyadi’s role is not to make judgements on behalf of investment professionals. It is to help keep the operating conditions around those judgements clear. She does not select securities, determine position sizes, approve transactions or make portfolio decisions. Research, risk, legal and compliance professionals retain their respective responsibilities.

Her concern is whether the information reaching those professionals can still be understood, verified and used appropriately.

Cross-border investment research cannot eliminate every wait or provide an immediate answer to every question. But an unresolved question with a named owner remains an active task. A document that cannot yet be used, with its access status clearly marked, will not be mistaken for a completed delivery.

The greater concern is not simply that work remains unfinished. It is that everyone believes it is already done.

Sumex, a Hong Kong-based non-custodial crypto SuperApp that unifies CeFi and DeFi portfolio management, trading and cross-chain swap aggregation, has announced a new partnership and integration with StealthEX as it continues to expand its swap infrastructure and available liquidity routes.

The integration brings StealthEX’s non-custodial swap engine and broad asset coverage into the Sumex ecosystem, giving users an additional route to exchange digital assets without needing to navigate separate exchange interfaces.

To celebrate the launch, Sumex and StealthEX are also running a joint campaign that lets users earn rewards while exploring the newly integrated swap routes.

Bringing More Assets and Liquidity Into One Swap Experience

StealthEX is a non-custodial crypto exchange service built for fast, wallet-to-wallet asset swaps.

The platform supports more than 2,000 cryptocurrencies and connects with multiple major exchanges to source the best available market rates for each swap. Its infrastructure is designed to execute trades without ever holding users’ funds, sending the swapped assets directly to the destination wallet specified by the user.

This adds another robust swap layer to Sumex’s growing aggregation network, further expanding the number of assets and routes available through its interface.

For users, the benefit is simple: access to more assets and an additional trusted swap provider, all within the same Sumex experience, without the need to create another exchange account or juggle multiple platforms.

Expanding the Sumex Swap Aggregator

Sumex aggregates routes from multiple providers, comparing available quotes and execution conditions to help users access competitive swap opportunities from a single interface.

Adding StealthEX strengthens that infrastructure with another provider that covers a wide range of digital assets and trading pairs. Simultaneously, as the name suggests, StealthEX provides not just the cross-chain, but private swaps too, allowing users to obfuscate the link between their wallets, therefore retaining more privacy from the public blockchain records.

StealthEX supports both fixed-rate and floating-rate swaps, and its routing engine taps into multiple liquidity sources. This gives Sumex an additional provider to incorporate into its growing network of swap partners, further extending the range of assets users can access through the platform.

The integration also aligns naturally with Sumex’s non-custodial design. StealthEX does not act as a custodial wallet, and standard crypto-to-crypto swaps are executed via a wallet-to-wallet flow, without requiring users to keep funds on the platform.

For the crypto users this means more swap infrastructure without changing the core experience: users stay in full control of their assets while tapping into an expanding network of routes through one interface.

Swap, Explore, and Earn

To celebrate the integration, Sumex and StealthEX have launched a new Swap Campaign backed by a dedicated reward pool.

Users can take part by completing swaps through StealthEX routes on Sumex, turning everyday swap activity into a chance to earn additional rewards while exploring the newly integrated infrastructure. The combined prize pool $1500, with $500 located in Mystery Boxes, awarded for the frequency of swaps, rather than the volume – allowing everyone to be rewarded for their participation.

The campaign is accessible via the Sumex Rewards Hub and reinforces Sumex’s approach of tying campaigns to measurable, in-product activity.

Instead of asking users to leave the Sumex ecosystem to try a new provider, the campaign gives them a clear incentive to explore StealthEX through the same swap experience they already use.

Another Route Into a Growing Swap Network

The StealthEX integration adds another layer to Sumex’s expanding swap infrastructure, giving users broader access to digital assets and an additional source of liquidity and execution.

As Sumex continues to bring more CeFi and DeFi infrastructure together, the goal remains the same: reduce the fragmentation users face when managing and moving crypto across different platforms.

With StealthEX now integrated, users can access its swap infrastructure directly through Sumex while keeping their portfolio, trading activity, and other crypto workflows within the same non-custodial environment.

The Sumex x StealthEX campaign is now live on Sumex
