Lord Abbett’s flagship fintech platform, L Smart X – AI-Powered Intelligent Stock Picking System, has officially launched globally after eight years of development across three generations. Designed for high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors in Asia, the platform operates within applicable regulatory frameworks and provides intelligent investment research, market analysis and strategy decision support.

About Lord Abbett

Founded in 1929, Lord Abbett is one of the oldest independent asset management firms in the United States. The firm focuses on active management, multi-asset allocation and research-led investment strategies. Operating as a partnership, Lord Abbett serves pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, institutional clients and high-net-worth investors worldwide.

L Smart X is positioned as the fintech outcome of Lord Abbett’s long-standing investment research framework and quantitative strategy development.

Core Technology Architecture

L Smart X is not a traditional stock screening tool. It is a third-generation intelligent investment system evolved from the Digital Alpha quantitative engine first developed in 2018. The platform builds a closed-loop decision process covering market signal detection, strategy generation, execution optimisation and lifecycle risk control.

The system consists of three core modules:

1. Multi-Dimensional Market Signal Detection Engine
The platform processes high-frequency market data, including price movement, trading volume, order book depth, macroeconomic indicators and market sentiment. Using Deep Neural Network and Reinforcement Learning models, it identifies market structure changes, trend inflection points, volatility shifts and potential trading opportunities.

2. Adaptive Strategy Generation and Execution System
L Smart X creates and adjusts multi-strategy portfolios based on risk appetite, asset allocation structure and market liquidity. It supports OTC trades, REIT and ETF strategies, IPO subscription analysis, block trades and structured execution workflows. Embedded liquidity controls and order-splitting logic help reduce market impact, improve execution routing and enhance fill efficiency.

3. Full-Lifecycle Risk Control Hub
The platform applies risk control before, during and after trades. Pre-trade controls include multi-factor stress testing across drawdown, liquidity and regulatory scenarios. Intra-trade monitoring tracks metrics such as VaR, CVaR and maximum drawdown. Post-trade analytics generate performance reports to support future strategy refinement.

A composite scoring mechanism governs trade activation. Orders are triggered only when signal strength reaches at least 75% and the risk compliance score reaches 90 points or above.

Multi-Asset and Market Coverage

L Smart X supports institutional-grade investment research across multiple asset classes and markets. Coverage includes listed equities on SGX, HKEX and US exchanges, large-cap and small-to-mid-cap stocks, OTC trades, dark pool liquidity channels, cross-border REIT allocation and multi-strategy ETF portfolios. The system also provides smart IPO analytics by assessing pricing structure, historical allotment patterns and potential upside.

The platform integrates data feeds from Singapore, Hong Kong and the United States, and supports settlement in SGD, HKD, USD and other major currencies.

Research Support Team

The project is supported by investment professionals with experience in global asset management, equity research, cross-market allocation and quantitative strategy development.

Matthew R. DeCicco, CFA, Director of Equity Investments, brings over 20 years of experience in global equity and growth asset management. Sue Kim, Director of Global and Emerging Markets Equity Investments, focuses on international equity portfolios, cross-asset allocation and sector rotation research. Jayne Lin, Research and System Support Associate, supports structured market data analysis, research coordination and investor communication.

Security and Compliance Framework

L Smart X incorporates security and compliance controls throughout its system design. These include AES-256 and TLS 1.3 encryption, tiered account access controls, key management, cold-hot storage segregation, segregated custody structures and independent quarterly system assessments. The platform also uses compliance screening tools such as World-Check to identify high-risk entities and abnormal trading activity.

The system is designed as an intelligent investment research and decision-support utility. It provides structured market analytics and strategy recommendations within applicable regulatory boundaries to assist users in investment judgement and asset allocation planning.

Development Roadmap

From 2018 to 2020, the project developed the Digital Alpha engine and foundational quantitative risk models. From 2021 to 2023, the team integrated deep learning, reinforcement learning and enterprise-grade language model capabilities, supported by repeated backtesting and sandbox simulations. From 2024 to 2026, L Smart X completed live-market stress trials, strategy validation, model upgrades and compliance reviews before being rebranded and launched for commercial deployment.

Institutional Positioning

As a key institutional fintech offering from Lord Abbett, L Smart X converts complex market dynamics into structured, actionable investment workflows. By combining systematic algorithms, enterprise research frameworks and disciplined risk controls, the platform aims to improve cross-market allocation efficiency, strengthen portfolio risk management and support more stable long-term strategy execution.

Genius.fun Launches on BNB Chain to Bring Hostile Takeovers On-chain

New launchpad enables crypto communities to launch tokens, accumulate public-company shares and coordinate around corporate ownership

Genius Foundation today announced the launch of genius.fun, a new BNB Chain launchpad designed to help online communities coordinate capital and pursue ownership in publicly traded companies.

photo 2026 09 17 09 27 09 Genius.fun Launches on BNB Chain to Bring Hostile Takeovers On-chain

Genius.fun connects internet-native tokens with tokenized public-company shares, enabling decentralized communities to organize around a company, accumulate its equity and pursue shareholder initiatives, board representation or even hostile takeovers. By applying crypto-native markets and permissionless coordination to public-company ownership, it offers an alternative to structures traditionally dominated by investment banks, private-equity firms and activist funds.

Armaan Kalsi, CEO of Shuttle Labs, commented, “We’re excited by the Genius Foundation’s efforts to create a new primitive for crypto-native corporate power. We’re excited to see what happens when crypto native communities launch capital formation vehicles with 2 clicks and, for example, potentially do things like vie for board seats. A new capital formation vehicle with power to affect the real world is inherently exciting.”

From Memes to Real Ownership

Meme tokens have traditionally represented attention, identity and speculation. Genius.fun aims to turn that attention into coordinated economic power by allowing communities to launch tokens associated with public companies and pair them with tokenized shares.

Market activity can support further share accumulation, while eligible tokenized positions may be redeemed for the underlying equity. This creates a path beyond price exposure, allowing communities to pursue shareholder initiatives, activist campaigns, board representation or an acquisition strategy.

Built for Permissionless Coordination

Creators can pair tokens with BNB, USDT, USDC, Ondo, bStocks, xStocks or 4Stocks, with additional markets expected through gPerps. They can earn up to 1.25% of trading fees, while 0.25% supports buybacks and supply locking.

Token progress can be tracked from launch to graduation directly on its trading page. Tokens graduate at 15 $BNB through PancakeSwap, genius.fun’s graduation DEX partner.

Crypto-Anarchy Meets the Public Markets

Genius.fun is built on the belief that capital formation should not belong exclusively to investment banks, private-equity firms and activist funds. A meme can capture global attention within hours, while a token can turn that attention into a liquid market and a decentralized treasury that accumulates real assets.

The platform applies crypto’s culture of disruption, openness and voluntary coordination to public-company ownership. Its vision is that crypto’s next era will be defined not simply by bringing traditional assets on-chain, but by what global communities do with them once they get there.

The First On-chain Hostile Takeover

Genius.fun is working toward a future in which an online community can identify a public company, launch a market around it, accumulate a significant equity position and use that ownership to demand a voice.

At sufficient scale, that could mean pursuing a board seat, organizing an activist campaign or even attempting a hostile takeover. These strategies have historically been dominated by institutional investors and Wall Street firms. Genius.fun is exploring what happens when internet-native communities have the tools to pursue them as well.

A token launch can be the starting point. From there, communities can grow their market, build a treasury and coordinate around a company they want to influence.

Create your token. Choose your pair. Build your treasury. Take your seat.

Genius.fun is live at https://genius.fun.

About Genius Foundation

Genius Foundation builds crypto-native infrastructure for permissionless markets, collective ownership and decentralized economic coordination.

Its mission is to advance crypto’s original promise: replacing gatekeepers with open systems, converting online communities into economic forces and giving individuals the ability to organize capital on their own terms.

Genius.fun is the Foundation’s BNB Chain-based launchpad connecting token creation, tokenized public equities and community-led ownership.

Disclaimer: Participation in digital-asset and tokenized-securities markets involves significant risk. The availability, redemption and legal treatment of tokenized shares may depend on the applicable provider, jurisdiction and regulatory framework. References to corporate governance, board representation and takeover activity describe the platform’s intended use cases and long-term vision; they do not guarantee that any community will acquire a particular ownership interest or governance right. Nothing in this announcement constitutes an offer to buy or sell securities or financial, legal or investment advice.

Ahead of the European Short Drama Forum, CEE Media-Tech Veteran Says Europe’s Microdrama Audience Has Arrived but Distribution Ecosystem Is Still Developing

Ellery Voss Advisors, a New York and Hong Kong-based tech-enabled growth advisory firm, today announced the release of an exclusive in-depth interview with Lukasz Wysocki, Founder and Managing Director of MediaSpurs. The interview is being released in conjunction with the European Short Drama Forum (Q3 2026), the quarterly online forum hosted by Short Drama Alliance, with its European session scheduled for September 19, 2026. Wysocki is one of the panelists participating in the forum.

A 20-year media-tech veteran with experience at NBCUniversal, Sky, Hayu and Polsat Group across London, Munich and Warsaw, Wysocki brings a Central and Eastern European (CEE) perspective to the global microdrama market.

The interview examines the development of Europe’s microdrama sector, including the role of distribution, genres and storytelling formats that can travel across borders, the emergence of European platforms and the ways brands are beginning to engage with the format.

The interview is being released as the global microdrama market continues to expand. According to the Ellery Voss Short-Form Drama Industry Report, the global microdrama consumer market reached $12.2 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach $56 billion by 2031, representing a compound annual growth rate of approximately 29%. Omdia separately projects the global market to reach $14 billion in 2026 and $22 billion by 2030, with the UK identified as Europe’s leading market at 8.2 million monthly active microdrama users, compared with 4.4 million in Germany.

“This industry clearly became much more than another short-form trend. What interested me was what this could mean for Europe, and especially for broadcasters, streamers and telcos that already have audiences and distribution but haven’t really entered this space yet,” said Lukasz Wysocki, Founder and Managing Director of MediaSpurs.

Wysocki points to Poland as an example of local audience demand. WPP Media research found that approximately 3.5 million Polish adults, or around 10% of the adult population, had used a dedicated microdrama app, while nearly 10 million had been exposed to the format in some form. Nielsen data from Poland cited in the interview indicates that the core audience is concentrated among people aged 24 to 44, with a pronounced female skew.

“Europe has the audience, but the point-of-sale distribution is the missing link,” said Michael Tew, Managing Partner of Ellery Voss Advisors. “Lukasz’s read on distribution mirrors what we’ve seen across every market that has made this jump: the winners are not necessarily the platforms with the best content. The winners in Europe will be those with the shortest path from an existing distribution customer base to a paying microdrama viewer.”

Interview Examines Europe’s Distribution Challenge

In the interview, Wysocki argues that dedicated microdrama applications in Europe have demonstrated consumer demand, while growth has relied heavily on paid acquisition through platforms including TikTok, Meta and YouTube.

He identifies broadcasters, streamers and telecommunications companies as potential distribution partners because they already have established customer bases, billing relationships and marketing channels.

Wysocki also emphasizes the importance of localization as the European market develops. He expects content that feels relevant to local audiences to remain important as microdrama expands across different European markets.

On genre, Wysocki does not suggest that Europe needs to develop a single format for international audiences. Instead, he identifies storytelling mechanics such as strong emotions, clear characters, fast-moving narratives and cliffhangers as elements that can travel across markets.

He also points to thrillers, crime, comedy, fantasy and sports as categories with potential, while noting that local storytelling and intellectual property remain important. “Europe is also not one market,” he said. “A Polish audience, French audience and Spanish audience don’t necessarily want the same stories.”

Global platforms including ReelShort, DramaBox and NetShort continue to play a significant role in distribution, while TikTok, Instagram and YouTube primarily serve as discovery and customer-acquisition channels. Wysocki also points to Holywater’s My Drama and newer entrants such as RoseBerry as examples of emerging European participation in the sector.

European Brands Explore Microdrama Monetization

The interview also examines how European brands are beginning to approach original short-drama content.

Wysocki says European brands are increasingly considering funding original short-drama series rather than relying solely on product placement within existing productions. He also discusses the potential role of advertising-supported access, subscriptions and micropayments in the development of the business model.

WPP Media’s research in Poland indicates that audiences currently show a preference for ad-supported access, while Wysocki notes that consumer willingness to pay directly for short episodes could create additional monetization opportunities.

“Brands are already figuring out how to tap into their consumer audience by producing microdrama series that are thematic, exciting and highly targeted, and European brands are quickly catching on,” said Tew.

The full interview with Lukasz Wysocki is available atwww.elleryvossadvisors.com and on the Ellery Voss Advisors LinkedIn page. Ellery Voss Advisors can also be contacted at [email protected] to request a copy of the Ellery Voss Short-Form Drama Industry Report.

European Short Drama Forum

The Short Drama Forum is a professional online forum focused on the global short-drama industry and is hosted by Short Drama Alliance every three months. Its Q3 2026 European session is scheduled for September 19, 2026 and will feature Lukasz Wysocki alongside other CEE and Western European media-tech leaders discussing distribution, localization and monetization strategies for the region.
