The Film That Predicted AI Is Coming to Life: Live, on Stage, Across the UK
London, UK
In 1927, Fritz Lang imagined a city where machines had displaced workers, surveillance was total, and the divide between those who owned technology and those consumed by it had become unbridgeable. This autumn, that film arrives in London for the first time not as a museum piece, but as a live event. The timing is not coincidental.
Vox Lumiere, the Los Angeles-based live performance company, will bring its acclaimed production of Metropolis to the UK for the first time, with a London premiere at Greenwich Theatre on 26 September 2026, as part of a 20-date national tour running September and October 2026.
The production is not a screening. Created by composer and producer Kevin Saunders Hayes, it pairs the restored 1927 film with an original rock-operatic score performed live throughout by vocalists and musicians. Hayes describes it as “rock concert meets silent film.” The film runs. The band plays. The two are inseparable.
“We’re not presenting Metropolis as a relic. The film has always been ahead of its time. This is about letting it speak in a language audiences can feel now.”
Kevin Saunders Hayes, composer and creator
The production arrives at an inflection point. Metropolis has become one of the most-cited works in contemporary discourse around artificial intelligence, economic inequality, and the future of work. Its automated labor force, its city stratified by class, its central conflict between human agency and machine control. The film is 99 years old. It has never felt more current.
Vox Lumiere has toured its productions across North America and Europe for over 20 years, performing more than 300 shows across six countries to over one million audience members. The company has received two 21st Century Filmmaker Awards for Excellence and five LA Stage Scene Awards including Best Special Event of the Year, and been the subject of a nationally televised PBS special in the United States. Hayes has scored more than 50 feature films, including two Academy Award-nominated documentaries.
“Hayes’ music is always interesting, intriguing and crosses every genre from gothic to punk to pop.”
The Daily Breeze“Mind-blowing entertainment… truly different, incredibly exciting, and definitely the ticket for one of the coolest events to be found.”

Notable Men Names Olympic Champion Ryan Lochte as 2026 Magazine Cover Feature

The 12-time Olympic medalist reflects on extraordinary success, setbacks, resilience, fatherhood, and the journey of rebuilding beyond the pool
CHEYENNE, WY
Notable Men has announced 12-time Olympic medalist and six-time Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte as a 2026 cover feature, recognizing a career and life story defined not only by extraordinary achievement, but by the highs, lows, setbacks, and reinvention that followed.

For more than a decade, Lochte competed at the highest level of international swimming. Across four Olympic Games, he became one of the most decorated swimmers in Olympic history, building a career marked by world records, championship performances, and some of the sport’s most memorable rivalries.
But the story Notable Men wanted to explore doesn’t end with the medals.
Lochte’s journey has been one of remarkable highs, unexpected challenges, and continued evolution. Through the triumphs and the more difficult chapters, he has gained a perspective that extends far beyond competition. The Notable Men cover story explores the full arc of that journey, from becoming one of the most decorated swimmers in Olympic history to navigating change, embracing fatherhood, and discovering what achievement and fulfillment mean in this next chapter of his life.
“Ryan’s story is compelling because it isn’t a straight line,” said the Notable Men editorial team. “He experienced a level of success very few people ever reach, but he has also had to navigate failure, scrutiny, change, and rebuilding in a very public way. There is something powerful about hearing from someone who has stood on an Olympic podium and also had to pick himself back up when life looked very different.”
In his conversation with Notable Men, Lochte reflects on what it took to become an Olympic champion, the relentless mindset behind his success, and the sacrifices that accompanied years of competing at the highest level. He also speaks about the more difficult chapters of his journey and what those experiences ultimately taught him about accountability, resilience, identity, and moving forward.
The feature explores what happens when a person who has spent much of his life being defined by achievement suddenly has to redefine success.
For Lochte, that evolution has included becoming a husband and father, confronting challenges away from competition, and developing a different perspective on the legacy he wants to leave behind.
His story reflects a larger idea at the heart of Notable Men: being notable isn’t about presenting a perfect life.
It is about the journey. It is about what someone builds, what they accomplish, what happens when things don’t go according to plan, and who they become as a result.
“Some of the most meaningful stories aren’t simply stories of success,” the Notable Men editorial team added. “They’re stories about what happens after the win, after the loss, after the mistake, and after the world has formed an opinion about you. Ryan’s willingness to talk about those different chapters is what makes this conversation especially meaningful.”
The Ryan Lochte cover feature will appear in the 2026 edition of Notable Men Magazine, with an in-depth conversation spanning his Olympic career, defining victories, difficult moments, personal growth, mental health, fatherhood, and the lessons he carries into the next chapter of his life.

Los Angeles, California
Jeffrey Nadrich, Founder and Managing Attorney of Nadrich Accident Injury Lawyers, opposes the utility bailout that California Governor Gavin Newsom is alleged to have proposed in the wake of 2025’s devastating Southern California wildfires.
The proposal could have major implications for Eaton Fire survivors pursuing compensation through lawsuits against Southern California Edison.
According to CalMatters, Newsom is allegedly working on a bailout for utility companies which would:
- Limit financial compensation for the pain and suffering of wildfire victims
- Eliminate the right of insurance companies to recover the costs of wildfires from utilities
In addition, according to FOX KTVU, the bailout would allegedly cap or eliminate how much money utilities would have to pay the families of those who died in the wildfires.
“Newsom’s allegedly proposed bailout would shift the costs of utility companies’ negligence from utility companies to wildfire victims and insurance buyers,” Nadrich said.
“If insurance companies aren’t repaid by utilities that cause wildfires, everybody will pay more for insurance,” Nadrich added.
Newsom, along with legislative leaders, is allegedly attempting to negotiate an end-of-session bailout for utility companies behind closed doors, according to nonprofit Consumer Watchdog, who claims the bailout would:
- Reduce the accountability of utility companies
- Limit the legal rights of wildfire survivors
- Transfer the financial burden of wildfires onto the public
According to Consumer Watchdog, utilities PG&E, Edison and Sempra have spent $16.7 million lobbying California lawmakers in the first six reporting quarters of the 2025-2026 legislative session, the most they have ever spent.
During Newsom’s administration, the utilities have also spent more than $127.6 million on lobbying, campaign contributions and political committees.
The alleged bailout proposal heavily rests on a study prepared by firms who performed work for Edison relating to the Eaton Fire, according to Consumer Watchdog.
“The Eaton Fire killed 19 people, destroyed over 9,000 structures and caused over $27.5 billion worth of damages, and Newsom’s alleged bailout seeks to shift this massive cost from Edison, who CAL FIRE just concluded is responsible for the fire, to wildfire victims who are still struggling to get back into their homes and make ends meet,” Nadrich said.
About Jeff Nadrich
Jeff Nadrich is the Founder and Managing Attorney of Nadrich Accident Injury Lawyers, a law firm that supports victims of California wildfires, helping them to recover compensation for property damage, evacuation costs, medical bills, lost wages, pain, suffering and more. The law firm has resources available for victims of California wildfires and has 17 offices in California.
