Tyrannus Foundation Announces AI Film Summit Los Angeles 2026 With Global Creator and Industry Program
LOS ANGELES, CAFollowing a landmark inaugural year for the Tyrannus Angel Awards, the October 24 summit brings creators, producers, technologists, investors, and industry leaders together to explore what comes next for AI filmmaking.
Following a landmark inaugural year for the Tyrannus Angel Awards, the October 24 summit brings creators, producers, technologists, investors, and industry leaders together to explore what comes next for AI filmmaking.
LOS ANGELES, CA
AI filmmaking is quickly moving beyond experimentation. As creators gain unprecedented access to cinematic production tools, the next questions are becoming larger: How do creators build careers? Who funds and distributes the work? Who owns the intellectual property? And how does AI filmmaking develop into a sustainable entertainment industry?

Those questions will take center stage at AI Film Summit Los Angeles 2026, taking place October 24 at City Club Los Angeles.
Presented by Tyrannus Foundation, the Summit follows a major first-year milestone for the organization’s Tyrannus Angel Awards, which closed its inaugural submission season with 633 entries from creators across more than 80 countries.
For a first-year international AI film competition, the response represents more than a strong debut. It reflects how quickly AI filmmaking is expanding across cultures, markets and creative communities worldwide.
Hundreds of filmmakers are no longer simply discussing what AI might make possible. They are already creating the work.
The next challenge is building the industry around them.
Storytelling Still Comes First
The Tyrannus Angel Awards jury brings together experience across film production, Disney animation, Hollywood visual effects and international storytelling.
The 2026 jury includes David Johnson, Davy Liu, Steven Springer, Ming Pan and Roberts Liardon.

Producer David Johnson has been an advocate for AI’s ability to reduce traditional production barriers and create new opportunities for filmmakers whose stories might otherwise struggle to reach the screen.
Davy Liu, former Disney animator and founder of Kendu Films, brings another equally important perspective. With credits including Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Mulan and The Lion King, Liu has long emphasized the importance of story, character and emotional connection.
As cinematic imagery becomes easier to generate, those fundamentals may become even more valuable.
AI can lower the barrier to making a film. It does not lower the standard for making one worth remembering.
From AI Creation to a Real Industry
The momentum of the Awards now leads into AI Film Summit Los Angeles 2026, built around the theme:
Where AI filmmaking meets the real industry.
Rather than focusing solely on new tools, the Summit examines the emerging AI film ecosystem through four core conversations:
MAKE IT — AI Filmmaking: From Experiment to Production
Exploring professional workflows, visual consistency, directing, editing and the transition from impressive AI clips to production-ready filmmaking.
BUILD A CAREER — The New AI Filmmaker: Skills, Roles & Industry Opportunity
Examining new creative roles, professional skills and career pathways emerging as AI becomes integrated into film production.
SELL IT — Who Pays for AI Film? Funding, Distribution & Monetization
Addressing financing, pitching, distribution, commercial partnerships and sustainable revenue models.
OWN IT — Protect the Work. Clear the Rights. Keep the Value.
Focusing on copyright, authorship, licensing, digital likeness, consent, commercial rights, and long-term intellectual property value.
Together, the four conversations create a simple framework for the industry’s next phase:
MAKE IT. BUILD A CAREER. SELL IT. OWN IT.
Beyond the main stage, the Summit will feature a Creator Lab with interactive AI filmmaking experiences, a dedicated Screening Room featuring selected work, a Tyrannus Angel Awards Spotlight, and an Industry Exchange connecting creators with professionals across entertainment, technology and business.
Extending the Summit Beyond the Room
AI Film Summit Los Angeles is also partnering with Sisi Hollywood to extend the story of the event beyond the attendees inside City Club Los Angeles.

Founded and hosted by television personality Sisi Cao, an international media personality and television host, Sisi Hollywood is a nationally syndicated television and editorial platform centered on entertainment, culture, and cross-cultural storytelling. The platform reports distribution across more than 150 U.S. television stations, with its programming appearing across broadcast and streaming outlets.
Together, AI Film Summit Los Angeles and Sisi Hollywood will produce a dedicated television special around the October 24 gathering, capturing conversations, creators and defining moments from the Summit for subsequent television and streaming distribution.
The collaboration gives the event a life beyond a single afternoon — translating the conversations happening inside the Summit into media that can reach a broader audience and helping introduce the emerging AI film movement to viewers beyond the technology community.
It also reflects a larger ambition behind the event: not simply to discuss the future of entertainment, but to create the stories through which that future is understood.
Film, Technology, Business and Law in One Room

Acquisition of Randhurst Village Expands Rhino’s Presence in the Affluent Chicago Metropolitan Market
Mount Prospect, Illinois
Rhino Investments Group, a commercial real estate investment firm specializing in value-add and necessity-based retail assets, announced today the acquisition of Randhurst Village, an open-air, dual grocery-anchored power center located in Mount Prospect, Illinois. The acquisition closed on September 15, 2026.

The acquisition marks Rhino’s second major retail investment in the Chicago metropolitan area in the past year, following its acquisition of The Promenade Bolingbrook in Bolingbrook, Illinois. Together, the acquisitions reflect Rhino’s continued expansion in the Chicago market and its strategy of investing in large-scale, well-located retail destinations with strong tenancy and long-term value-creation opportunities.
Randhurst Village is an approximately 931,798-square-foot open-air power center situated on 94.22 acres at the high-traffic intersection of Rand Road (U.S. Route 12) and Elmhurst Road (Illinois Route 83). The property is currently dual-anchored by Jewel-Osco, the leading supermarket in the Chicago MSA, and Costco, the nation’s top warehouse grocer and a rare inclusion in retail collateral.

The center features an institutional-quality tenant roster. Beyond its grocery anchors, Randhurst Village is home to Home Depot, Macy’s, TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, Nike, Skechers, PetSmart, Planet Fitness, and AMC Theatres, among others, creating a diverse and resilient tenant mix.
As one of the highest-trafficked power centers in Illinois, Randhurst Village draws more than 7.3 million annual visitors, reinforcing its standing as a dominant regional shopping destination in Chicago’s affluent northern suburbs.
“Randhurst Village is an important addition to our portfolio and builds on the momentum we established with our acquisition of The Promenade Bolingbrook last year,” said Sanjiv Chopra, CEO of Rhino Investments Group. “These two acquisitions demonstrate our continued commitment to the Chicago market and our strategy of investing in large-scale retail destinations with strong tenancy, embedded growth and long-term relevance within their communities. Randhurst Village’s dual grocery anchors and multiple opportunities for future upside make it an especially compelling addition to our portfolio.”
Rhino Investments Group plans to operate and evaluate strategic leasing and development opportunities that further enhance the community.

AEGIS South America Technical Adaptation Advances

Edmund R. Kauferton coordinates technical work supporting the regional adaptation of Citadel’s AEGIS framework.
São Paulo, Brazil, September 23, 2026
Edmund R. Kauferton is coordinating technical work supporting the South American adaptation of Citadel’s AEGIS framework, according to project materials. His responsibilities include sovereign-risk research, quantitative strategy and localized scenario analysis, with the work focused on helping institutional users understand the reasoning and assumptions behind risk assessments.

According to project materials, the technical work addresses how institutions interpret projected changes in risk, the assumptions supporting those findings, the market relationships that may shift, and the conditions under which an assessment may need to be revisited.
According to project materials, the technical work Kauferton coordinates connects these practical considerations with the regional adaptation process.
Commodities, currencies, interest rates and sovereign risk are among the principal areas addressed by the South American adaptation of AEGIS. According to project materials, understanding the relationships among these areas is also relevant to assessing portfolio risk.
For example, in a hypothetical scenario, falling commodity prices could influence currency expectations, while subsequent effects could also depend on inflation conditions, monetary policy and capital flows. Similar price movements under different conditions could therefore produce different portfolio risks.
According to project materials, institutions consequently need to examine how risk moves from one part of the system to another when reviewing a scenario’s findings.
According to the existing project materials, AEGIS emphasizes adaptive scenarios, integrated risk analysis and the evaluation of multi-asset hedging alternatives. Its explainability features are intended to help users examine the assumptions and market relationships behind each scenario. For the regional technical work Kauferton organizes, this provides a basis for discussing how model findings apply to local conditions.
Once a risk report enters an investment committee or internal review process, institutions may raise more specific questions about the conditions on which an assessment depends, how changes to those conditions could affect the conclusion, and how different risk factors influence the outcome.
According to project materials, these questions demonstrate the connection between explainability and institutional judgment, allowing users to consider the relevance of analytical reasoning to their own portfolios.
According to project materials, Kauferton’s responsibilities center on organizing technical research, coordinating quantitative analysis and advancing regional adaptation. His work involves translating questions within the broader macroeconomic framework into specific South American market scenarios.
According to project materials, institutional engagement and local coordination organized by Elowen C. Winterthorne provide a connection between this technical work and regional requirements.
According to project materials, Citadel’s AEGIS South America initiative is entering a substantive implementation phase after several months of preparation, with Brazil serving as the core hub for the initial work. Subsequent discussions are expected to address localized sovereign-risk scenarios, commodity and currency exposure, interest-rate sensitivity and multi-asset portfolio resilience.
Within this context, according to project materials, Kauferton’s work centers on whether institutions receiving a risk assessment can examine the assumptions, relationships and conditions underlying it.
According to project materials, this forms part of the regional technical adaptation by providing an analytical basis that institutions can scrutinize in support of professional judgment.
Brazil Provides a Practical Setting for Technical Adaptation
According to project materials, Citadel’s AEGIS South America initiative is entering a substantive implementation phase after several months of preparation, with Brazil serving as the core hub for the initial work. Subsequent discussions will address localized sovereign-risk scenarios, commodity and currency exposure, interest-rate sensitivity and multi-asset portfolio resilience.
Within this context, Kauferton’s work centers on a practical question: when institutions receive a risk assessment, can they examine the assumptions, relationships and conditions underlying it?
This is a significant aspect of the regional technical adaptation—providing an analytical basis that institutions can scrutinize in support of professional judgment.

AEGIS South America Initiative Advances Regional Engagement
São Paulo, Brazil, September 23, 2026Project materials describe Elowen C. Winterthorne’s role in coordinating institutional engagement between global technical teams and South American participants.
Project materials describe Elowen C. Winterthorne’s role in coordinating institutional engagement between global technical teams and South American participants.
São Paulo, Brazil, September 23, 2026
Elowen C. Winterthorne is organizing institutional engagement and local coordination within Citadel’s AEGIS South America initiative, according to project materials. Her work focuses on connecting global technical teams with South American institutional participants and helping clarify their respective analytical requirements and working conditions.

That understanding requires sustained communication. Technical teams focus on the model’s analytical scope and scenario assumptions, while institutional participants must consider their own responsibilities, review procedures and operating environments when assessing which questions the analysis can address.
According to project materials, winterthorne’s regional coordination connects these perspectives.
Shared Risk Topics Can Involve Different Institutional Needs
Different institutions may all be concerned about currency volatility, interest-rate changes or sovereign risk, yet seek different answers from the analysis.
Some discussions focus on how an overall portfolio might perform under stress; others require a closer understanding of particular exposures. Differences in internal review arrangements can also shape the explanations institutions need. Clarifying these distinctions through dialogue helps establish a clear direction for subsequent technical discussions.
Local adaptation therefore involves market data, model parameters and the ways users frame questions, interpret findings and incorporate analysis into their working processes.
According to project materials, the institutional engagement Winterthorne organizes enables these considerations to enter project discussions. Her responsibilities include arranging local exchanges, coordinating communication among participants and supporting the connection between technical work and regional requirements.
Regional Coordination Requires Communication in Both Directions
When a global methodology is introduced into a local market, making technical explanations understandable is one part of the process. Local institutions’ constraints, questions and analytical needs must also be communicated accurately to the technical team.
These exchanges help both sides clarify the scope of their discussions: what institutions want to address, what analysis the framework can provide and which issues require further research.
Project materials identify Winterthorne’s U.S.–Brazilian background as relevant to her regional coordination work. In practical terms, her contribution involves supporting communication across different institutional and commercial environments, helping participants develop a clear understanding of the issues under discussion.
According to project materials, edmund R. Kauferton organizes and advances sovereign-risk research, quantitative strategy and the technical adaptation of AEGIS. His responsibilities connect with Winterthorne’s work through these discussions: he advances the analytical questions, while she coordinates related requirements and local communication.
Moving From Preliminary Engagement to More Specific Discussions
According to the existing project materials, preparatory work has included regional risk research, technical reviews and multiple rounds of communication with institutional participants in Brazil and selected South American markets. Following several months of preparation, the initiative is entering a substantive implementation phase, with Brazil remaining the core hub for initial coordination.
Subsequent topics include localized scenario analysis, commodity and currency exposure, interest-rate sensitivity and cross-border capital flows. Connecting these technical subjects with institutional work requires continuing dialogue and coordination.
According to project materials, winterthorne’s responsibility is to organize and advance that regional communication. As discussions become more specific, the local requirements, working conditions and institutional feedback she helps communicate will form an important part of understanding the South American adaptation of AEGIS.
