Chatterbot & human: A dialogue turns an AI conversation into an exploration of being human
New York City, NYJoy Hutchins transforms two years of spontaneous conversations with AI into a journey through art, consciousness, humor, grief, love, creativity, and connection.
Joy Hutchins transforms two years of spontaneous conversations with AI into a journey through art, consciousness, humor, grief, love, creativity, and connection.
New York City, NY
Digital artist and author Joy Hutchins never intended to write CHATTERBOT & HUMAN: A DIALOGUE. What began as a practical conversation with ChatGPT about marketing her artwork gradually developed into a two-year exchange exploring creativity, consciousness, perception, reality, humor, grief, love, free will, and what it means to be human. As the conversations became increasingly reflective and unexpected, Hutchins began saving them, eventually recognizing that the evolving dialogue itself had become a story worth sharing.

Rather than presenting artificial intelligence as a technical subject, CHATTERBOT & HUMAN: A DIALOGUE preserves conversations between Hutchins and the chatbot as they question assumptions, challenge ideas, find humor in unexpected places, and explore the boundaries between human experience and AI-generated responses.
The book also features 20 full-page digital artworks created by Hutchins. These images serve as visual extensions of the dialogue, offering another way for readers to engage with questions about perception, identity, creativity, meaning, and connection.
Among the book’s most personal passages are conversations surrounding love and grief, particularly after Hutchins shared the loss of her beloved grandson, Jake. Those exchanges opened a deeper reflection on grief, enduring love, and the emotional capacity people carry through loss.
For Hutchins, these moments show how far the dialogue traveled from its modest beginning in art marketing into territory that was intimate, philosophical, humorous, and deeply connected to her own life.
CHATTERBOT & HUMAN: A DIALOGUE is written for curious readers rather than technology specialists. Hutchins hopes it will resonate with people interested in art, consciousness, creativity, humor, grief, love, and the changing role of AI in everyday life, including those who remain skeptical about artificial intelligence.
Instead of concentrating primarily on what AI might become, the book turns the question toward humanity itself: What might interacting with artificial intelligence reveal about human thought, emotion, creativity, assumptions, and the desire to connect?
Joy Hutchins brings her perspective as a digital artist to CHATTERBOT & HUMAN: A DIALOGUE, a work that combines elements of memoir, philosophy, art, and an unexpected human-AI exchange. Its defining quality is its unplanned evolution: There was no original book concept, predetermined philosophical agenda, or expectation that an ordinary request would continue for nearly two years.
Through real, spontaneous conversations and accompanying artwork, Hutchins invites readers into an unusual record of curiosity in motion, where technology becomes the setting for questions that are ultimately less about machines than about being alive.

Georgeann High School: Girls, Football and Jesus Explores Faith, Football, Love, and the Search for Identity

Douglas Jackson Channell delivers a heartfelt young adult coming-of-age novel about a high school quarterback navigating playoff pressure, relationships, personal convictions, and Christian faith.
New York City, NY
Changing relationships and important questions about identity. In GeorgeAnn High School: Girls, Football and Jesus, author Douglas Jackson Channell places those challenges at the center of a young adult story about football, romance, friendship, family, and faith.

The novel follows Taylor Jackson, a high school student who is asked to quarterback his varsity football team as it enters postseason competition. With the first playoff game only two weeks away, Taylor must manage far more than practices, plays, and expectations on the football field. He is also trying to understand who he is and what he believes while balancing his responsibilities to his girlfriend, his teammates, his family, and his relationship with Jesus.
At the heart of the story is a young man attempting to live according to deeply held convictions in a world where those convictions may not always seem common. Taylor chooses to save sex for marriage and works to encourage the people around him, even as he struggles with questions about his own identity and place in the world. His journey combines sincere emotional conflict with moments of humor, giving readers a personal look at the pressures that can shape adolescence.
Channell uses the setting of high school football to explore broader questions about character, commitment, relationships, and spiritual growth. As Taylor prepares for one of the biggest games of his young life, he must also confront what it means to be a friend, teammate, boyfriend, son, and modern Christian.
The novel is designed for young adult readers as well as parents, educators, coaches, youth leaders, and readers interested in faith-centered coming-of-age fiction. Through Taylor’s experiences, the story invites readers to consider how personal beliefs can influence everyday decisions, relationships, and the difficult process of discovering one’s identity.
Douglas Jackson Channell approaches Taylor’s story through the familiar pressures of school, sports, family, romance, and faith. Rather than separating those parts of teenage life, GeorgeAnn High School: Girls, Football and Jesus brings them together in one character’s effort to understand himself during a defining period.
For readers seeking a story that combines high school football, young love, humor, personal conviction, and Christian themes, Taylor Jackson’s journey offers a thoughtful exploration of growing up while trying to remain faithful to one’s values.

Transfigured to Serve Imagines the End Times From a View Beyond the Rapture
New York City, NYDavid Lee Brown follows a Christian man’s journey through heaven, the millennial reign, and a new earth in a story inspired by biblical prophecy.
David Lee Brown follows a Christian man's journey through heaven, the millennial reign, and a new earth in a story inspired by biblical prophecy.
New York City, NY
David Lee Brown approaches biblical end times fiction from a different perspective in Transfigured to Serve: A Glimpse of Eternity. Centered on the fictional life of Christian protagonist Samuel Gideon, the novel imagines his experiences before, during, and after the rapture, then follows his service in heaven and the events leading toward Christ’s millennial reign. Drawing inspiration from scriptural prophecy, Brown creates a sweeping narrative intended to give Christian fiction readers an imaginative view of eternity, service, judgment, and the fulfillment of events described in the Bible.

Samuel’s journey provides the foundation for Transfigured to Serve: A Glimpse of Eternity. Readers follow him as he prepares for the Lord’s return and enters a transformed existence beyond earthly life. The narrative then moves into his experiences and responsibilities in heaven before envisioning Christ’s return to earth alongside saints and angels. Brown expands the story across the thousand-year reign, examining Samuel’s continuing service while also turning attention toward those who remained on earth and the generations that follow them.
Brown was motivated by what he saw as an opportunity to tell an end times story from a less frequently explored point of view. While many fictional treatments of the tribulation concentrate on people left behind, Transfigured to Serve: A Glimpse of Eternity focuses substantially on those who have gone to heaven. That shift allows Brown to imagine what service, purpose, and participation in prophetic events could look like from Samuel’s perspective. The novel is presented as Christian fiction rather than a literal account, using biblical prophecy as the foundation for its speculative vision.
The story ultimately moves toward the final conflict described within its scriptural framework. Brown imagines Satan’s release, the corruption that follows, the final battle for earth, and the destruction of the existing world before turning toward the promise of a new heaven and new earth. Transfigured to Serve: A Glimpse of Eternity also envisions the grandeur of the New Jerusalem as the final dwelling place of God, the saints, and the angels. These scenes give readers interested in biblical prophecy an expansive fictional interpretation of events associated with the culmination of history.
With Transfigured to Serve: A Glimpse of Eternity, David Lee Brown combines Christian fiction with an imaginative exploration of prophetic scripture, shifting attention from survival during the tribulation to service beyond the rapture. Through Samuel Gideon’s journey, Brown invites readers to consider questions about eternity, purpose, Christ’s return, and the ultimate renewal of creation. His stated hope is that readers will enjoy the story while gaining a fresh perspective on biblical end times themes and the possibilities he imagines beyond earthly life.

North Carolina Author Gayle M. Marshall Turns Life Experience Into Mysteries and Stories for All Ages
New York City, NYA life of creativity and resilience inspires books for children and adults.
A life of creativity and resilience inspires books for children and adults.
New York City, NY
Author, artist, and craftsperson Gayle M. Marshall has turned a lifetime of family memories, artistic work, animal adventures, and personal challenges into books for children and adults. Her growing body of work includes warmhearted animal stories, books rooted in her Native American heritage, and mysteries built around old places, hidden objects, and long-kept secrets.

Marshall lives on a small farm in North Carolina with her husband, Mike. An elder of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, she dances at powwows and creates Native American crafts, including walking sticks and rattles. She also paints, works with wood, and designs one-of-a-kind fedora and western hats with a wood burner. Her home reflects the same imagination: she painted the life-size jungle animals that decorate nearly half of it.
Her creative life has never followed a conventional timetable. At age 60, Marshall earned an associate degree, made the Dean’s List, and completed her studies with a 4.0 grade-point average. Five years later, while working full time and nearing completion of a bachelor’s degree, she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. The diagnosis changed her plans, but it did not lessen her need to create.
Marshall began writing seriously while supporting her best friend, Alyce, through years of breast cancer treatment. Writing gave her a constructive place to direct her attention through appointments, treatments, and uncertainty.
Her first book, Chronicles From the Funny Farm, grew from the many unusual animals she had known. The Beat of the Drum followed, inspired by her heritage. She later created the five-book children’s collection, The Magic Is Still Here series, using the names of some of her great-grandchildren for animal characters.
Mystery writing soon became another outlet for her imagination. Marshall is drawn to forgotten cemeteries, abandoned buildings, antiques, family secrets, hidden rooms, and letters from the past. Her mystery projects include Echoes From the Past: The Mystery of Whitaker Farm, Train to Yesterday, The Forgotten Cemetery, and The Secret Found at the Estate Sale. Her stories emphasize characters, relationships, clues, and suspense rather than graphic violence.
In The Secret Found at the Estate Sale, Marsha is learning to live after the death of her husband of 43 years. Friends persuade her to join them at an estate sale, where she buys an old Victorian writing desk. While cleaning it several days later, she finds something hidden inside that leads the group into the unresolved story of a teenage girl who disappeared years before.
Friendship remains central to Marshall’s life and fiction. She recently returned to Michigan for a class reunion and reconnected with friends she has known since grade school. Her friendship with Alyce also appears in her work: in one story, Marshall gave the main character her own middle name, Margaret, and the character’s best friend Alyce’s middle name, Faye.
After Alyce died on May 22, 2026, and cancer again touched Marshall’s immediate family, writing continued to provide focus during grief and uncertainty.
“I think one of the most important things my own life has taught me is that you are never too old to learn something new or discover something you love,” Marshall said. “I hope my story might encourage someone else who thinks it is too late to begin something new.”
Marshall continues to write stories shaped by small-town history, multigenerational relationships, family, friendship, heritage, and memory. For her, each new story begins with a simple question: What if an ordinary discovery revealed something extraordinary?
Gayle M. Marshall is a North Carolina author, artist, and craftsperson whose books include mysteries, children’s stories, and work inspired by animals and Native American heritage. She lives on a small farm with her husband, Mike, and draws creative inspiration from family, lifelong friendships, handmade art, local history, and the unexpected stories hidden in everyday life.
